I AM 66 years of age and my wife and I have been coming to St Annes regularly for 40 years.
We visited again this March and couldn't believe our eyes when we saw St Annes Square.
The monstrosities placed there in the form of shelters and other hazards which do nothing at all for the appearance of St Annes left me and my wife shocked.
I know I am well past my sell-by date but this is planning gone mad.
Although some modern buildings have appeared in the shopping centre over the years, St Annes always had a splendour, character and charm that was a joy to see.
Now it's gone for ever.
These eyesores must also have cost a fortune and wherever the money has come from it's a tragic waste.
Neither will this attract visitors or shoppers. Indeed, I reckon it will deter them. All in all a disaster.
