A GUEST appearance by bubbly TV actress Lisa Riley proved just the tonic at the re-opening of a Tottington pharmacy.
Lisa, former star of Emmerdale who now fronts the popular You've Been Framed programme, carried out the ceremony at Cohens Chemist in Market Street, Tottington.
The actress, who lives in the village, was delighted to accept an invitation to officially open the premises, a former paper shop.
Cohens had moved into its new premises from its previous pharmacy just 50 yards away!
Lisa performed the ceremony in the company of her mum, Kath, and pharmacy owner Mr Anwar Patel who, along with his brother Yakub, operates a network of around 94 Cohens chemists throughout the country.
Kath said: "The chemists were so helpful during my recovery from breast cancer. They are an important part of community life and it was an honour for Lisa to open the pharmacy."
Commenting on her battle with breast cancer, Kath stressed: "I would encourage women to check regularly and to ask chemists for advice, which they will give freely."
The chemist shop, which was originally known as Turner's, has had a presence in Market Street for around 20 years and employs four staff.
