LEIGH Avenue and AFC Limelight will contest the Redwaters Coronation Cup semi-final tomorrow looking for the opportunity to have a crack at Higher Folds in the Final.

Last Saturday's clash between the top two sides in Division One, current leaders Royal Oak and defending champions Folds, finished emphatically 3-0 in the latters' favour.

Oak may currently head the division but on this cup occasion they finished quite a way second best as goals from Steve Ashbrook, Mick Blakeley and Steve Burns settled the issue.

For Limelight, tomorrow's game will be a second big cup occasion in just seven days and they will be hoping for better fortune than last weekend's Carl Brown Memorial Trophy quarter-final when they finished 3-1 losers to Britannia.

Nigel Cooper had given Limelight a 23d minute lead but Mark Broli levelled five minute before the break with Mick Waterworth on 70 minutes and an Ian McKinnon penalty conversion five minutes from the end making sure of a place in the last four for Britannia.

In the Division One programme, Leigh Sportsmen added to Courts A's misery this season with a 6-1 thumping.

The Division Two results saw Hag Fold WMC go second in the table with Brian Hupton (2), Gary Farnworth (2) and Aaron Green earning a 5-1 home win over Horns Inn. Andy Tipping registered an 89th minute consolation for the losers.

Howe Bridge Mills' recent good form continued with Andrew Monks scoring a hat-trick and Aaron Walker, Dave Hogan and Chris Radcliffe one each in a 6-0 away win at bottom club Mechanics Arms. Darren Evans scored four times in the last 20 minutes of the first half and Steve Crane on 65 minutes in Asda Golborne's 5-1 away win at Sailors and Soldiers, Alan Campbell having earlier put the home side in the lead on 14 minutes.

Courts B held a two goal lead at home to Fir Tree Rangers by the 20 minute mark through Wilf Ford and Anthony Davey but eventually went down 6-4. Jonathan Parr and Peter Mitchell both scored twice and Peter Mitchell and Phil Buxton once for third placed Rangers. Matt Disley and Shaun Priest got Courts third and fourth goals.
