A MAN who tried to flag down a bus fell underneath it.
Andrew Chippendale, 38, of Charles Street, Nelson, was taken to Burnley General Hospital with a broken leg and ankle.
The incident happened at 7.37pm on Wednesday at the junction of Sagar Street and Broadway.
Sergeant Russell Gregory, of Colne Traffic Police, said: "He is believed to have been running after the bus as it was leaving the station and was banging on the side to attract the driver's attention.
"He fell and went under the bus and one of the wheels went over his leg."
The Stagecoach bus was driven by David Hamer, 40, of Bracken Grove, Haslingden.
