A 19-YEAR-OLD white man suffered facial injuries after being attacked by a group of seven or eight men in Nelson town centre.
He suffered a broken nose, a broken front tooth, cuts to his lips and swelling and bruising to his face at around 7.30pm on Tuesday.
DS Mick Baker said: "The 19-year-old local lad was approached by seven or eight Asian males on the pedestrianised area of Scotland Road.
"One of them caught his attention causing him to turn round and when he did so he was struck in the face by someone else who was holding some kind of instrument causing some serious injuries to his face.
"If anyone was in the area and saw anything we would like them to contact the police on 01282 472643."
