YOUNGSTERS in Hindley enjoyed a fun start to the school day when they tucked into a French breakfast.
The 26 pupils at Mornington High School were treated to the tasty continental breakfast as part of their French Food and Drink studies and the annual event is always a big success.
Year Seven pupils enjoyed croissants and hot chocolate and are now looking forward to sampling French cuisine for real when they visit Boulogne for a day trip in June. They have also enjoyed becoming pen pals with students from College La Madelaine in Wigan's twin town of Angers.
French teacher Sue Hitchen said: "They were all so excited about the breakfast it was great.
"A lot of them had never tried croissants before, so it was lovely to have a bit of French authenticity on a typical English school day."
