HINDSFORD U12s extended their unbeaten run with a 5-0 home victory against Horwich Town and kept their title hopes alive.
In heavy conditions Hindsford produced some excellent flowing football and quickly mounted a series of attacks.
Hat-trick hero Sam Smith opened the scoring with a scorcher into the roof of the net but Adam Chapman went one better with a similar shot from the edge of the box. There was no stopping Hindsford in this mood and despite several goals being disallowed, they took a first half 3-0 lead.
The one-sided game continued and Smith claimed his third before Neil Cooke put the result beyond doubt.
Manager Steve Eckersley praised his players after the game saying: "In the first half Horwich could not live with our quality and strength and we could easily have doubled our tally. My players were focused today and I can forgive their performance in the last 15 mins when we were flat. Perhaps some of them had their minds on a school holiday away next week. I just hope they come back fresh."
