A CLASSROOM duo taught everyone a culinary lesson and carried off the Lancashire Evening Telegraph-sponsored Inter-Schools Cookery Competition title.
Emily Crewe, aged 15, and Rebecca Ford, 14, produced four tasty dishes with a multi-national flavour to curry favour with the judges.
Welsh lamb medallions with caramelised leeks and an Irish cake with lemon icing were Emily's contribution, while Rebecca added Scotch Mist - with double cream, whisky and marmalade - and English sausage with mustard and mashed potatoes to the menu marvels.
Emily, of Chatburn Park Drive, Brierfield, and Rebecca, of Briercliffe Road, Burnley, are pupils at St Christopher's Hign School in Queens Road West, Accrington. They won £20 W.H. Smith vouchers and goodie bags, and the chance to enter a national competition to be trained at a local college.
