FIREBUGS are being blamed for a weekend blaze which destroyed more than 30 bales of nylon.
They were contained in an outside storage area at the premises of Rydon Exports in Dumers Lane, Radcliffe.
Fire crews from Whitefield and Bury fought the blaze which broke out at 11.30pm on Saturday (May 26).
Officers said that more than 100 of the nylon bales, measuring 2 sq metres each, were involved in the outbreak, with 30 per cent being destroyed.
The flames were contained within the storage unit and did not spread to the main building nearby.
Crews spent nearly five hours at the scene. The cause of the blaze is being viewed as suspicious by police. Investigations are continuing.
