AT the post-match press conference Preston boss David Moyes insisted he was not downhearted, writes Tom Parker.
He said: "We are obviously disappointed not to win but we have a lot to be happy about this season."
Moyes added: "The turning point was the save by their keeper from David Healy.
"We didn't play well in the first half but we got better in the second. There was only one goal in it with two minutes left and we were pressing for an equaliser when they scored on the break."
The final comment on the season from the Preston manager was to pay tribute to the North End supporters.
He said: "They were magnificent here today, just as they have been all season. We are proud of them."
On a final note, as one who has travelled the country watching everything that has been done by Preston North End this season I would like to pay a personal tribute to those loyal supporters of the club.
They can be proud of their performance all season, so much humour, so much passion for Preston North End and they will be back for the early season friendly matches and then do it all again next season for the Premiership challenge.
Take a bow, ladies and gentlemen -- you were magnificent.
