North End have announced that two players who were out of contract at the end of the current season have been released, while a third has been offered an extension to his contract.

The two players who have been released are left-back Dominic Ludden and young Irish winger Stuart King.

Ludden's last two season's have been plagued by injury whilst King has spent a number of months of this season on loan at two Scottish sides.

Paul Morgan has been offered a one year extension to his contract.

The Irish defender made his first start for North End at the beginning of the season against Shrewsbury and has also featured on the bench on a number of occasions.

He is now thinking over the offer.

Meanwhile, two other young players have signed new deals.

Both Brian Barry-Murphy and Mark Wright would have been out of contract this summer, but both have agreed to new three-year-deals.

Barry-Murphy has been impressive this season, captaining the reserve side and breaking into the first team squad - making his full debut in the derby against Blackburn Rovers.

Wright meanwhile has also been in impressive form for the reserves, scoring four goals in one game against Bolton during the campaign and ended the season as the Reserve team's top scorer.
