PHIL Winston's sensational students gave it "The Works" at their recent showcase at Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Paradise Room.
Aptly opening with energetic anthem New Generation in eye-catching white and metallic outfits, these showbiz wannabes could have wiped the floor with many a professional cast right from the start.
Yes, the choreography is top class and should be from such luminaries as Mr Winston etc. And yes, the costumes and lighting etc are of a professional standard.
But it's the obvious talent and down-right love of the theatrical life that shines through from this glamorous group of hopefuls and lifts them above the rest.
Standing out from an amazingly talented bunch are smoky-voiced second year Robyn Gale who sings up a storm with Karen Carpenter's Masquerade, the graceful moves of Gilli Blundell in a sensational scarlet outfit and a stunning dance solo from Sarah Dunning.
But all deserve a standing ovation for their show of tap dancing, show tunes and first-class entertainment. Bravo, Theatre Works.
