RESIDENTS in Affetside can be proud of their village green project.
And now the Affetside Millennium Green Trust has received a grant of £500 towards the completion of the green.
The money was donated by the Volvo Practical Environmental Projects scheme and presented by the Volvo dealership, Walker Farrimond, in Bury.
To mark the millennium the village group has transformed a derelict bus-turning circle into a green.
The project has already attracted funding from the Millennium Commission to the tune of £15,000, a cheque for £10,000 from the Pilsworth Environmental Trust and grants from Bury Council.
However, a further £5,000 is needed to complete and maintain the village green.
