FATHER and daughter Simon and Jennifer Walsh are saddling up for a coast-to-coast display of pedal power for charity.
Simon (50) and 13-year-old Jennifer, of The Drive, Seedfield, Bury, will ride 175 miles from Seascale, Cumbria, to Robin Hood's Bay, North Yorkshire, in aid of the Children's Hospitals Appeal Trust.
Sponsorship for the ride in August will be added to the proceeds of a bike trek by Simon last year, across the Sinai Desert in Egypt, with the expected total reaching more than £3,000. Simon, pictured, said: "I ride from Bury to work in Manchester every day and thought I may as well put my fitness to good use. Jennifer might not be quite as fit, but she'll be able to do it."
