PLANNERS have given a Rossendale councillor the go-ahead to use part of his restaurant as a educational centre for Islamic teaching.
Coun Abu Asad Choudhury is delighted to have received consent for the change of use of part of his restaurant Saffron, on Burnley Road, Rawtenstall, and hopes to be able to set up an Islamic day school.
For diners it now means bring your own alcoholic drinks because the room is also going to be used as a base for calling Muslims in the are to prayer.
