PLANNERS are set to give the go-ahead for a former chapel which was last used for storing furniture to become eight one-bed flats.
A plan for the former Springside Furniture Depository, off Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall, will be discussed on Tuesday by the engineering and planning sub-committee and officers are recommending approval.
Two letters of objection from local residents have been received, but the plans have amended since they were sent.
The first objection was because of a lack of car parking, but the plan is now for eight car spaces to be made available, and the second was concerned about a plan for ten flats and parking and that has been scaled down to eight.
Officers conclude: "The proposed scheme of conversion would introduce an appropriate use to the application property. The proposed density of this scheme is acceptable on the basis that there would be communal yards and a car parking space available to serve each flat.
