THE landlady at the centre of a storm over a steamy afternoon sex show in a town centre pub says she still plans to apply for an entertainments licence.

Andrea Bennett, who runs the Boulevard Pub near Blackburn Railway Station, pulled the plug on the X-rated show after it was slammed by church and council leaders.

But she now says she is planning to contact the council so she can put on more entertainment in the recently-revamped pub.

Police are still investigating whether the sex show broke the law as an offence involving outrage to public decency.

Punters at the show, staged earlier this month, saw a dancer strip from her nurse's uniform before covering a drinker in baby oil and cream.

She then performed a sex act involving molten wax and touched herself intimately. She had previously danced a full-frontal strip.

A second stripper followed soon after.

A spokesman for Blackburn Cathedral, which stands just yards from the pub, attacked the show, along with the leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council, Bill Taylor, who called for an investigation.

A spokesman for the council said an investigation was ongoing and any prosecution under licensing laws would follow the conclusion of that investigation.

Miss Bennett said: "I have not been in touch with the council yet, but I am planning to contact them to see about an entertainment licence."
