A 21-year-old man suffering from "social and psychiatric problems" was given a 12 month community rehabilitation order and banned from driving for six months at Burnley Magistrates Court.
Terry Lee Grimshaw, of Sunnybank Street, Haslingden, had admitted driving while disqualified and not having insurance.
He must also pay £69 costs.
An allegation of unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle was discharged by the bench.
