A LATE goal from substitute Paul Baker wasn't enough to rescue a point from Darwen's NWCL Second Division match against Squires Gate last night.
Squires Gate had gone two-up in the 86th minute before Baker pulled one back.
Darwen had the ball in the net early on through Scott Grundy but it was mysteriously ruled out for handball.
Andy Walsh had chances to equalise after the home side went ahead but the writing was on the wall when Squires Gate got their second.
"We were poor," said manager Steve Wilkes.
RESULT: DAISY HILL...2 DARWEN...1
