RAGS and Scraps the lucky kittens are recovering from a double brush with death after being rescued from a skip just hours before it was destroyed by fire.
The two-week-old moggies were found under a mound of waste at Neales Waste Management, Gorse Street, Blackburn.
Debbie Emmott, the health and safety environment manager at Neales is looking after the cute pair but she wants to find homes for them.
Debbie, 33, of Nora Street, Barrowford, took them to the vet to be looked over and given injections and is hand feeding them. She has named them Rags and Scraps because of where they were found.
Debbie said: "They are very lucky to be alive after the trauma they have been through. Scraps was very weak and I didn't think he would make it through the night.
"The person who dumped them in the skip is nothing more than an animal and deserves to be locked up."
Although Debbie loves cats she says she cannot keep them because she already has a cat called Liquorice who gets jealous.
Debbie said: "I would love to keep them but I can't because I don't think Liquorice would accept them."
