A DEBUT goal from Jonathan Stowe was enough to give Colne a well-deserved
victory at Oldham last night in the NWCL Division Two.
Stowe grabbed the winner in the 35th minute vindicating Colne player-boss John Lister's decision to play just one striker up front.
Even before the goal Dom Kay and Stowe had great chances to give Colne the lead but Ross Baxter in the Colne goal also had to be in excellent form. Lister and Shaun Emmott both went close after the interval.
"It was an excellent performance and I am delighted we managed to keep a clean sheet," said Lister."It now gives us something to build on.
RESULT: OLDHAM TOWN...0 COLNE...1
