I WAS thinking about what might be the criteria for gaining a bus pass. Then the answer came to me when travelling on the 474 bus route.

You have to be aged over 60 and be a world champion queue pusher: God help you if you get in their way! In recent weeks, I have been barged with a lady's walking stick, hit with a handbag and had the Second World War spouted at me!

Don't get me wrong, the people who fought in the wars did a fine job, but that doesn't give you the right to be rude.

As a young woman of 25, who has nursed elderly people for eight years, I am increasingly annoyed by the constant lack of respect shown by people boarding the bus.

It's no wonder youngsters do not respect the older generation.
