EX-BURNLEY striker Alan Lee feels that the newly promoted Rotherham are learning quickly.

The former Claret returns to Turf Moor tomorrow aiming to produce a strong personal display and hoping the Millers will at last get some luck.

They have started with narrow 3-2 defeats against Crystal Palce and Watford and then earned 1-1 draws in their derby clashes with Barnsley and Sheffield United.

"We have been pleasantly surprised that we have played so well and we feel we have been unlucky at times," said the 23-year-old.

"But we have also made a few silly mistakes and we are learning that in Division One players are more quick to punish those mistakes."

However, now that problem is being addressed, the addition of former Stockport County defender Martin McIntosh paying instant dividends, Lee is confident that the Millers can cut it in the first division after consecutive promotions.

"We know that all the games are going to be tough, but we are not worried in the slightest," said the striker, whose 13 goals in 31 League appearances last term played a big part in Rotherham's promotion push.

"There is no way that the panic will set in. We know that we can score goals and now we are also defending better as well.

"We are facing a lot of hard games, like the derby matches with Barnsley and Sheffield United, but those seem to be coming every week.

"Even Burnley is fairly close, but for us it is not so bad.

"I think as we are perhaps regarded as the smallest club going into these games the pressure lies elsewhere."
