ARMED and masked raiders fled with a small amount of cash from a Bury post office.
The robbers burst into the Hollins Post Office in Hollins Lane shortly before 1pm yesterday.
One of the men was holding a handgun while his accomplice wielded a hammer. They threatened staff and forced them to hand over the cash.
They escaped in a red Volvo car which had been stolen on Sunday from Park Lane, Whitefield. It was found abandoned after the raid in St George's Road, Unsworth.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery or the thieves abandoning the Volvo should ring Bury CID on 0161 856 8150 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
