Radcliffe Borough 6 Trafford 1 RICHARD LANDON is fast earning the tag of "Mr Versatility" at Stainton Park.

The former Plymouth and Macclesfield striker, signed by Radcliffe Borough in the summer, started life up front with Kevin Glendon's men, only to be switched to centre back early in the season following injuries to key players.

Saturday's FA Cup drubbing forced Glendon into a rethink and Landom resumed duties up front, with David Bean switching back to defence from midfield.

It worked a treat as Landon bagged a hat-trick, setting the ball rolling against Trafford with two goals in the space of five minutes to put Boro right back on track after the setback at Farsley.

Landon hit the post with a header before he struck with his first on 17 minutes, David Bean heading on a free-kick for Landon to fire in a fierce drive between the keeper and the near post.

Five minutes later Richard Battersby made ground to the by-line and pulled back a great cross. Fortunately, the referee ignored a late tackle on Batts and allowed play to continue and Landon shot in off a post.

Boro didn't let up and on 39 minutes James Price played a ball down the left for Jody Banim, who cut in across the box, beat a man and slotted the ball past the keeper in style.

Right on half-time Tony Whealing made it 4-0 to Boro when he drove a low free-kick round the outside of the wall after Battersby had, once again, been fouled.

Trafford pulled a goal back in the 58th minute when Tony Hogan fired in from the edge of the box.

In the 70th minute Glendon sent Andy Walker on for Mark Dempsey and seven minutes later Simon Kelly made his first appearance of the season after injury.

FIve minutes later Kelly was on the scoresheet when he collected a pas from Eamon Elliott and shot past the hapless Trafford keeper.

Ian Lunt, who had come on at the same time as Kelly, was brought down in the area to provide Landon with his hat-trick goal, and Boro's sixth, from the penalty spot.
