I SEE that Councillor David Smith (Letters, October 5) penned a reply to a street lighting query within the week. Pity the same could not be said for Councillor Ashley Whalley, or whoever is responsible for enforcing by-laws.
I had a letter published a month ago asking the question what would be done about drunks and ne'er-do-wells spoiling the new development in Church Street, Blackburn, and the silence has been deafening.
In many towns now it is illegal to drink alcohol on the streets, so why not in Blackburn, or is the question too difficult?
