PADIHAM FC suffered a nightmare away 3-1 defeat against Oldham Town on Saturday with a performance that matched the pitch which was awful.

Trailing 1-0 to a Warren Taylor goal after only five minutes, the Storks then went on to create a whole series of chances before half time which if converted, would have seen them leading comfortably by the interval.

Things didn't improve in the second half and after further missed chances by the Storks, Oldham extended their lead when Scott Black beat Padiham's non-existent offside trap to make it 2-0 after 63 minutes.

Ian Pilkington finally converted one of Padiham's numerous openings when he volleyed home a Craig Wilkinson cross in the 70th minute. But in a hectic finish to the game Padiham couldn't grab an equaliser and in injury time Warren Taylor added to Padiham's misery by scoring Oldham's third.

Padiham skipper Jamie Edmondson was sent off after clashing with an Oldham player seconds before the final whistle to leave Padiham manager Graham Haworth with a lot to think about before next Saturday's match against Blackpool Mechanics.

RESULT: OLDHAM TOWN... 3 PADIHAM... 1
