GIANT characters from the hit CBBC cartoon series The Lampies were on hand to light up the children's wards at Blackpool Victoria Hospital recently.
The Lampies are responsible for keeping the lights on across the world, but took time out to give the children a sneak preview of The Lampies' magazine before it went on general sale across the UK.
Jeremy Trimble, general manager of Please! Publishing, said: "The Lampies made a great impact with the children and they were all delighted to see the characters.
"We thought that as some of these children won't get to see this year's Blackpool Illuminations, we would bring some light to their time in hospital."
