A MAN was attacked and robbed after being tricked out of his car by a couple in a Blackpool street.

The man was in his car in Benson Road at around 5.30pm on November 6 when a man came up and told him there was something wrong with the front of his vehicle.

When he got out to make an inspection, a woman went to the front of the car and tried to steal some property from it.

The car driver challenged her and was grabbed in a headlock by the man who had first approached him.

The aggressor put a sharp implement to his back, intimating that it was a knife, and threatened to stab him unless he gave them money. He handed over around £50.

The attacker was Afro Carribbean, aged around 30, six feet tall, of stocky build and with a shaved head. He wore a white baseball cap with a USA motif, a white jumper, blue tracksuit bottoms and white trainers with a blue flash on the side.

The woman was white, aged around 20, 5ft 6ins tall, slim, with dark brown shoulder-length hair. She wore a black jacket and tight black trousers with a silver stripe running from the hip to the ankle. She spoke with a London or southern accent.
