I read last week with interest that WMBC councillors have elected to give themselves an increase in their allowances.

This week I hear that the District Offices in Tyldesley will be CLOSED in March 2002.

May I draw your attention to the fact that before WIGAN took over, Tyldesley Urban District Council was one of the richest UDCs in the country.

I know that Tyldesley is the last link in WMBC's chain, so why don't they close the town down all together?

That of course would substantially reduce annual income. That would NOT do! Would it?
