SHAUN Kendall scored a brace as Padiham ran out comfortable winners to move three places up the NWCL Division Two table.

Both keepers were in action from the opening whistle. Chadderton eventually broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when Craig Doyle rifled in a 20 yard free kick.

Anthony McCluskey equalised for Padiham in the 31st minute when he converted from close range a cross from Jason Stubbs, and a minute later Padiham made it 2-1 when Ian Pilkington capitalised on a defensive error to give them the lead. It was Pilky's 15th goal of the season.

Chadderton then equalised three minutes from half time through Steve Worthington.

In the second half Padiham had all the play and it was no surprise when Darren Forrest regained the Storks lead in the 57th minute. Shaun Kendall made it 4-2 scoring direct from a corner in the 73rd minute and with four minutes remaining Kendall added another with a shot that Chadderton's keeper Lee Grogan failed to hold.

In injury time Colin Bennett converted a penalty kick to add some respectability to the scoreline but in reality this was a deserved Padiham victory and the best possible start to the New Year.
