Awesome Atherton ATHERTON rugby union juniors made a runaway start to the new year with a 83-12 victory over Glossop. Newcomers Kyle Neal and Nicky Marsh made impressive debuts, Neal bagging three tries and Marsh two. James Harrison proved to be as reliable as ever scoring three tries and kicking six goals.
Richard Newsham worked hard for his three tries while man of the match Paul Rhoden scored two splendid long range tries. Lewis Sproston also popped over for a try and Alan Scollick kicked three goals.
