A LANDFILL site in Haslingden is set to close, before new costly regulations are brought in.
The development and environmental services committee recommended the Top O'Slate landfill site off Hud Rake be closed, subject to money being available to fund the closure.
Borough engineer and planning officer John Cowpe said it would prove more costly for the council to make sure the site met the new regulations and closure was the cheapest option.
It is likely the site will close on July 15.
