IT was all academic for Bury Grammar pupils Christopher Bryant and Jessica Shepherd, who were rewarded with framed certificates for proving themselves top of the class.
Outstanding entrance exam results and interview performances meant that 11-year-old Christopher and 12-year-old Jessica are this year's Kay Scholars.
They were presented with a certificate for the distinction, which entitles them to reduced fee contributions, by chairman of the estate governors Mr Anderew Sykes. Christopher, of Hunstanton Drive, Brandlesholme, was a pupil at Woodbank Primary, Brandlesholme Road. Jessica, who lives in Littleborough, was "dumbstruck" at the news.
