HEARTLESS thieves raided a Blackpool house and then set it ablaze on January 14.
Mother of two Catherine Houghton, 41, came home to find her hallway on fire and the house full of smoke, just after midday.
The callous burglars had even smashed the three smoke alarms at her Preston New Road home.
Catherine and her husband David are still not sure what has been stolen and the cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious. Damage to the property is estimated at £50,000.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "The smoke alarms had been tampered with and it took three firefighters wearing breathing apparatus to bring the blaze under control."
