AS a new parent I have been getting to grips with the available facilities for parents and children in and around Preston.

St George's has to be highly recommended for their baby room but places such as Boots, while providing excellent facilities, still have them in the adult toilets.

This is no help if a breast-feeding mother who wants the company of her partner while she feeds her baby as this can sometimes be a lengthy process and quite boring.

Something which outrages me and other parents I have spoken to is the misuse of parent and child car parking spaces. On a recent trip to Adsa I watched seven child-free cars use these spaces.

People don't bother to check the reason for a large space so near to the entrance being available; either that or they don't care how difficult it is to take a car seat or even a just the baby out of a car without opening the door fully.

Please have a little consideration for those of us who do. Maybe Asda could follow Tesco's lead and set up a badge system for parents.
