AN alternative production of the classic fairytale Cinderella is sure to have the audience in stitches after being given the comedy treatment for a charity performance.

The rags-to-riches tale, famous for its two ugly sisters, being played this time by Harold Banks and Anthony Moorcroft, is being produced by St Luke's Church, Blackburn, at the nearby St Paul Working Men's Club.

The production has been staged by close friends of the late Erik Chapman, who died of cancer in September aged 30. All funds raised will be donated to the Macmillan Nurses appeal to boost the charity which specialises in the treatment of cancer patients.

The pantomime has a special children's performance on Monday, February 4. Tickets are £3. Adults are invited to see the comedy on Thursday, February 7, and February 8, when tickets will cost £4. Doors open from 7pm and the play will start at 8pm.
