IAGREE with Chris Whitehead (Letters, April 3), but it is not the Labour Party which wants to close the homes for the elderly but our county council.
Yes, the county council is run by the Labour Party, but we have the power to vote them out -- if only we would use it.
Hundreds of other people are disgusted at the care home closures, according to Mr Whitehead. I ask them to, please, do as I and probably many more people have done and write to their MP and county councillor to show their disgust at even the thought of closing any care homes. It should not be hundreds, but thousands.
The elderly deserve our respect and thanks fighting for the free society we have today. Please show your support for them now.
