A YOUNG mum wept as she told a jury how she was attacked and raped following a night out.

The woman told the jury at Burnley Crown Court that she was dragged from a house. She said she screamed for help but nobody came.

Andrew Courtney, a HGV driver, formerly of Beaconsfield Street, Clayton-le-Moors, denies assault causing actual bodily harm and rape last June.

The alleged victim described Courtney's eyes as "glary" and said she did as she was told as she did not want to be hurt.

She said she and the defendant went back into the house where Courtney kicked and abused her and knocked her to the floor.

Courtney demanded sex as she sobbed and told her to get undressed. He then had intercourse with her twice.

The woman told the jury: "I just felt sick. I was crying. I never stopped crying."

Police were called and a doctor later found what the prosecution say was extensive bruising to the woman's body.

Howard Bradshaw, prosecuting, said the defendant totally lost his self control during the early hours attacks.

The woman, who had been to a nightclub with friends, said the defendant seemed very drunk. He grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and dragged her out of a house, along the ground and into the street.

She said she managed to get away and ran screaming down the street. She then decided to do as she was told as she didn't want to get hurt.

The young mum claimed the defendant kicked her between the legs and then followed her to the toilet.

She said Courtney demanded she perform a sex act on him and then went downstairs after her where he demanded intercourse.

She said Courtney apologised for hurting her, but didn't mean it. He then had sex with her twice.
