AN estate agent put up a reward in an attempt to stop an arsonist who was setting fire to for sale signs.
Nick Hitchen, a partner in Weale and Hitchen, which has branches all over Rossendale, found an area of Holcombe Brook was being targeted.
He said: "You could almost map a route out from a pub and so we put up signs in the newsagent in Holcombe Brook offering a reward and appealing for anyone with information of to contact us."
Mr Hitchen said other estate agency signs were also set on fire, but his advert had prompted calls and he was passing on names suggested to the authorities.
