BE prepared to see spots before your eyes in Blackpool's newest penthouse accommodation.

The Cruella de Ville suite and puppy pound is the latest attraction at Sparkles Hotel in Station Road, South Shore, where dotty dalmatians are the only dogs allowed.

At heart, Cruella-crazy proprietor Su Ryan, 45 is just a big kid who dons a Cruella wig and outfit to drive her open top sports car into town.

The new penthouse master bedroom with en-suite facilities has a roof top view, albeit from the window which leads the eye over rooftops to the highest blue and red peaks of Europe's tallest rollercoaster, the Pepsi Max Big One. It also has splashes of animal prints, a chiffon canopied bed and a life-sized cardboard model of Cruella. The second bedroom begs to be seen and is only for the barking mad with its resident 101 cuddly toy dalmatians and wall-stencilled images.

Su tackles much of the refurbishments herself and that includes knocking walls down, decorating, wall murals and upholstery.

"I sold my lovely 360-year-old country house in the Cotswolds to convert an old hotel into a great big doll's house," says Su.

Nominated by Bizarre magazine as one of the top 10 most bizarre places to visit in the UK, Sparkles Hotel has 16 themed rooms which include pinker than pink Barbie suite, Jungle room complete with gorillas, spiders and treehouse bed and Cinderella's Palace.

It has also been included, along with the Imperial Hotel, as one of only two entries in the Blackpool section of an American travel guide called Take The Kids To The UK.

Herself a single parent -- daughter Victoria is 15 -- Su is offering 50 per cent discount to one-parent families on three or more night stays at the hotel. For further details please tel (01253) 343200.
