IT'S next stop Namibia for 22-year-old globe-trotter Colin Royle, who has been on the road for the best part of two years.

The former pupil at St Bede's High School, Blackburn, has just returned from teaching Tibetan students in India and back-packing across Europe and Czechoslovakia.

But the wanderer is heading off to Africa for a project with the charity Raleigh International in July.

He will be working for two months to help protect endangered species, do wildlife surveys and work with the community.

The adventure will mean swapping home comforts in Dalby Crescent, Cherry Tree, Blackburn, for a base camp south of Windhoek surrounded by desert rhinos, penguins and flamingos.

Colin is working at Asda, Blackburn, and applying for sponsorship to fund the £3,000 the trip.

He's also taking the chance to enjoy his favourite food.

"There's always something you miss when you are away and bacon butties is definitely it," he said.

"I won't be getting luxuries like that again for a while."

He added: "Back-packing is an excellent experience but you do get to the point when you need to do something more focused and worth while."
