DISQUALIFIED driver Michael Cawley repeatedly tried to shake off a police car after he was spotted behind the wheel.
The 40-year-old refused to pull over and constantly changed direction in an attempt to lose officers on his tail, Bury magistrates were told.
The Vauxhall saloon he was driving stopped in the Prestwich area and Cawley was arrested as he attempted to run away.
Cawley, of Bury Old Road, Whitefield, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis, driving without due care, driving while disqualified, having no insurance and no test certificate. He was sentenced to 23 weeks in custody.
