I SAW a recent addition to the Longview Animal Centre this weekend -- a sad, pathetic dog, frightened of its own shadow and certainly a stranger to walks or treats or much human contact.

Within a couple of days I noticed an improvement in her condition but she will need a great deal of love and contact before she can grow in confidence and be rehomed.

As a visitor to the centre, I am in no doubt at all that Carole (the manager) and the rest of her staff will provide the care she and other animals need.

That is what they are good at, but this care costs money.

Please give your 50p a week to this centre in the form of a standing order so that it may continue its vital work.

I have given mine and so have many of my friends -- but it's not enough. The centre now has three more months to raise an additional £2,500 per month.

It can be done with a little help from you and the friendly Citizen who have already highlighted Longview's plight, which has resulted in 600 readers joining the fight to save this centre, the animals and the jobs of all the staff involved.

Thank you Citizen for caring and your readers for sharing.
