ELMS Bank Community High School has earned the prestigious Sportsmark Gold award.
The Whitefield school has become the first in the Bury borough to receive the coveted award, which is only presented to those who can show a very high level of out of hours sports provision and a broad and balanced PE curriculum.
Only 50 schools nationwide have received the Gold status this year.
