WHILST Lancaster Castle has had a presence on the Internet for some time as part of Lancashire County Council's site, now it can now boast its own domain name of 'lancastercastle.com', making it much easier to find.
The website - and indeed the Castle itself - receives visitors from all over the world - and contains lots of interesting information about the building, its history and the people who have been associated with it for many hundreds of years.
It is also a valuable resource for Australian geneaologists who have been able to trace their family tree back to a convict sentenced at Lancaster Castle to a term of transportation.
The site has also been instrumental in bringing different branches of the same family together for the first time in generations.
