A MAN has appeared in court, charged with kidnapping his former partner.
John Martin Atkinson, 38, of Cranfield View, Darwen, is also charged with making threats to kill Christina Ford and assaulting her, causing actual bodily harm.
The charges arise out of an incident on Monday when Miss Ford jumped from a moving vehicle as it turned into Sough Road, Darwen.
Atkinson, a driver for Tilmac Ltd, Darwen, was sent to Preston Crown Court. He was remanded on bail until July 3, must live at an address in Bolton, have no contact with Miss Ford nor go within a mile of her current address.
