THE family of tragic attack victim Christine Moore today said they were outraged after the man accused of killing her was released on bail as they laid her to rest.

David Osbaldeston, 29, of Prospect Street, Great Harwood, was charged with murder after the 51-year-old mum was found dead at her home in Emma Street, Accrington, four weeks ago today.

Police said the night before Christine was involved in a violent row with a man in the street.

On Thursday -- the day grieving relatives attended her funeral in Accrington -- a judge sitting in chambers at Preston Crown Court released Osbaldeston on bail on condition he lives in Merseyside.

Christine's heartbroken step-brother Michael Daly, of Maple Street, Clayton-le-Moors, said it was "disgusting."

"Whether he is guilty or not, it's very insensitive," he said.

"I think it's disgusting, it's a smack in the face for the family and the courts haven't shown any consideration for the family's feelings in this case.

"I don't know whether they knew she was being buried or not, but some slight consultation with the family could have solved that.

"To release a suspected man on the day of her funeral was highly insensitive. I'm outraged."

Keith Harrison, high court listings officer at Preston Crown Court, said: "The bail application hearing was held in chambers so we don't know what was said or what was taken into consideration. It's not a matter that was discussed in open court.

"It was a judicial decision and whether the judge was made aware of the funeral I don't know. Everything was done in closed court."
