EVERYONE will be hoping that the World Cup will have a memorable finale to cap a thrilling event - but I fear we will again be disappointed.

In truth, like the FA Cup Final, it is hard to remember the last really good one and I have got a feeling that the Germans will be happy for this to be another dull affair.

I can almost hear Rudi Voller's team-talk now. "We always win penalty shoot-outs, we have got the best keeper, let's go for it again."

After all they will be without their best attacking player Michael Ballack and that will make them even more cautious.

They have got to the final by beating Paraguay, USA and Korea 1-0, it has hardly been the most thrilling campaign has it? They have been quite negative, happy to just scrape through each round.

That is why I really hope Brazil can beat them. They have been the most adventurous side from the start, they have played the best football and being an attacking player myself I always want to support the team that goes out to win the game.

The Germans will try and stop them from playing football but I hope they will have the talent to overcome that.

Once they do get through, they then have to beat Kahn. I remember he got a lot of stick when we beat them 5-1 last year but he has come back brilliantly to concede only one goal in six games.

It is vital for a good game that he lets in another one as soon as possible to force the Germans to come out and play.

My fear is that won't happen. They will try to get to 20 minutes, 30 minutes and then half time with it 0-0 and hope to bore Brazil into making mistakes.

I hope I am wrong but if you are planning a Sunday dinner I would bank on a late finish. This could go all the way.
