GREAT Harwood Town boss John Hughes was just hoping he had got as strong a squad together as possible for tonight's FA Cup replay at Winterton Rangers.

Saturday's 0-0 draw at the Showground was far from ideal for Hughes as the long away trip to Lincolnshire poses more than a few problems from a selection point of view.

"We were not at full strength for the first game on Saturday due to injury and suspensions," explained Hughes.

"But, now we have to travel, we face the more straight forward problem of lads trying to get time off work in midweek for such a long trip.

"There are quite a few of them in the same boat when it comes to trying to get free, it is a big ask for a lot of people.

"It is a dilemma, but hopefully we will be able to put together a good squad."

However, Saturday's first meeting compounded Hughes' injury troubles with keeper Bobby Harris a major cause of anxiety.

"Bobby injured his knee in a collision and I have to say that he is very doubtful," said Hughes.

"We are hoping that Dave Sharples, James Cunan and Andy Taylor will be fit again after missing through injury, but we will have to see.

"John Eastham came in on Saturday after three months without a game and was outstanding, but he tired in the later stages and that is a problem that faces a few of them as they come back."

Hughes will not be able to field his two new acquisitions, Leon O'Neil and Liam Denny, who signed last weekend but whose registration did not go through soon enough to allow them to play.

Also in action tonight are current NWCL Division Two table-toppers Padiham who make the short trip to Ewood Bridge to face last season's champions Stand.

The Storks have had a dream start to their campaign winning four out of four games, scoring 11 goals and conceding just two.

Great Harwood travel to Winsford in the FA Vase on Saturday.
